"Midwest" is too vague, and so is "East Coast." Growing up in Kansas, I usually got cards and packages to and from New Jersey in 3-4 days, but other areas are going to take longer depending on the time of year, where you live, and the destination.
For instance, Colorado adds a whole 'nother day to shipping just for the fun of it.
The best way to answer your question would be to speak to the postal service you plan to use. UPS has a color-coded map of the United States with estimates on how many days a package averages using standard ground shipping.
