Most 'modern' aluminum pools have upwards of 20 year rust guarantee from the manufacturer. There is, as in most cases, limited liability, such as, were you supposed to build a barrier around your pool, what were you supposed to do to maintain and prevent corrosion.

Which is a better above ground pool steel resin or aluminum?

Usually, the best and easiest way to determine is by looking at the prices: The higher the price, the better the pool. Stainless steel may be the best. But steel will be affected by chlorine and may rust eventually. Aliminum does not rust. Aluminum by nature is very soft, unless it is an "alloy," which would make it too rigid for above-ground pool construction. Above-ground pools need a certain amount of flexibility to accommodate water movement and temperature changes. It is also important is to make sure of the gauge of the walls! If the walls are not of at least 30 gauge, and have a deep corrugation (ridges in the wall) they not last as well.

Why are aluminum pools so expensive?

aluminum pools are expensive because the cost of the raw material and the cost of fabrication and welding are many times higher than conctrete or gunite. however even if it was less expensive, aluminum is highly toxic to human systems. there are over 18,000 references on aluminum toxicity but the FDS has never studied the subject and it remains on their GRAS (Generally Regarded AS Safe) list. antacids , buffered vitamins, infant formula toothpaste, any contact with flouride, etc are all factors making aluminum more toxic. there are over 1100 studies showing infant formula with aluminum reduces mental functioning in infants.

In some pools, the cleaners add a chemical into the water, to turn urine blue. Most pools don't have these on these days. But in a pool without the chemical, no urine doesn't change color.

Would an extruded aluminum pool like the Johnny Weissmuller pools be a good pool or would the Radiant pool from Trojan pools be better?

Radiant Pools just make sense - Go GREENRadiant Pools have insulation and are much stronger. I was considering an extruded pool but went with a Radiant pool. I couldn't be happier. The pool temperature is consistent and I get to swim an extra month longer because it doesnt cool as fast. Also Radiant Pools has been in business for 50 years (used to be Trojan Pools). That shows something about their quality and product.
