Well most people get symptoms 2-30 days after being expose to herpes. But some people can be infected with herpes and not show any signs or symptoms of it, or they could get a very mild break out which could be mistaken for some thing else.
Unless you really know your body and know what signs or symptoms to look for with herpes, it can be kind of tricky to diagnose herpes on your own. If you do get any signs or symptoms then you should see a doctor and get tesed to confirm it. If you don't have any symptoms then you should wait about 5-8 weeks to have a blood test done for herpes.
