How did Canada help on D-day?
Canadian destroyers HMCS Algonquin and HMCS Sioux were among the flotilla charged with pounding the Germans' coastal defences. There were Canadian minesweepers clearing the paths for the ships. Canadian soldiers landed at Juno beach without tank support, but they drove further inland than any of their Allies on D-Day. The night before Canadian paratroopers landed behind enemy lines to prepare the way for the invasion.

What is the easiest way for a Czech guy to immigrate to Canada?
There is no easy way. You need to apply and wait. The government is slow. You need a Canadian sponsor and you need to work for two years to receive landed immigrant status. The easiest way is if you are educated and have lined up a job with a company here in Canada. Then you are privy to be streamlined. I wish there was an easy answer but immigration is tough and you have to be patient and willing to work at it. Canada is not without its culural barriers either and you should be prepared for those tensions as well when settling here.

What is someone called who lives in the country but is not a citizen?
How do you apply for refugee status from Canada to the USs?
Clarify your status in Canada? If you are a Landed Immigrant or Citizen, you would have to prove you are in danger remaining in Canada. Good luck! (hard to do!) If Canada has rejected your application for refugee status, most likely the US will, too. If you are passing through Canada, no permanent status in Canada except as a visitor, you might be able to do this - if you can prove you are in danger in your home country. You should have travel documents....(!) More info is really needed to better answer your questions...

Can you get Canadian citizenship through marriage?
Yes, you can get Canadian citizenship through marriage. However, easier said than done. It is not automatic. Marriage will allow the non-Canadian spouse to obtain permanent residency. After 3 years of basic residence/and or physical presence in Canada can apply for citizenship. Everyone needs to satisfy this requirement, which provides the same rights and benefits as citizens except one cannot vote. The Canadian spouse will need to sponsor the non-Canadian, where he/she will need to prove that he/she makes enough money which will allow him/her to support the spouse. Also need to sign a statement that no welfare will be claimed. This remains applicable for 3 years, until the landed immigrant spouse becomes eligible for citizenship.
