Some specimens of Royal (ball) Pythons can reach five feet or more - the two I have here in this room with me are both around 54 inches.
The ROYAL Python (to give the correct name from its latin name of Python Regius) can grow to a length of up to 60 inches. ALL my adult specimens are well over 55 inches ! Incidentally - The Royal Python only got the tag of 'ball python' from its defensive posture of curling itself into a ball when threatened !
Normally not more than 4 1/2 feet, some will get up to 6 though.
it can grow up to 4 meters.
Retic pythons grow up to 33 ft long. That is about a bus's length.
Ball pythons are typically right around 4ft long, though they can get longer (or be shorter). As with humans, a lot of it depends on genetics.
The green anaconda is longer. It can grow up to 30 ft long. The african rock python grows up to 20 ft long.
it may be scared or it just likes to ball up
The largest African snake is the African Rock Python (Python sebae), which can grow up to 8 meters long.
they call them ball pythons because they roll up into a ball when they are frightened but they call them royal pythons because in all the palaces in Africa they kept them around to eat the rodents hence the name royal python Edit: They got the name Royal Python from their latin name of Python regius - LONG before they got the nick-name 'ball python'
A Pregnant Ball Python can reach up to 5 1/2 feet long. The males can only get up to 4 1/2 long... I think that the asker was referring to the period of time.
If it's your first snake - the corn snake is the easiest to care for. The Boa WILL grow big (up to 12 feet !) and the Royal (ball) Python can be a fussy eater.
They grow and develop just like we do. They can grow up to 60ft.
