Normal Saline.
Saline. Sometimes referred to as normal saline or 0.9% NaCl.
Normal saline is the only IV fluid which is compatible with our blood. Given before to flush blood from the iv catheter and after to rinse it to make the site patent.
A fluid bolus is the rapid administration of IV fluid (ex. normal saline or lactated ringers) given to increase intravascular volume.

0.9% saline is isotonic to blood.
The only iv fluid used to start a blood transfusion in normal saline.
The only IV fluid that can be administered simultaneously w/ blood is Normal Saline Solution 0.9%.
You can use any isotonic solution like Normal Saline Solution (NSS), Hayem's and Gower's.
Saline is often used for some injections anyway, and it is a perfect practise fluid.
Normal saline is the recommended mix with regular insulin when used as an IV. It is the prescribed treatment for diabetic acidosis. The additional fluid is necessary not only to help disperse the insulin but also to fully hydrate the system and assist the pancreas and kidneys in flushing the system.
Normal saline is usually used when the reason of unconsciousness is unknown. The use of fluids is limited to normal saline and ringers lactate, or lactated ringers is used for fluid replacement in the case of blood loss as it acts as a volume replacement, keeping the blood pressure up.
