You don't say the make and size -and there are thousands of different lawn tractors ! - I once had a JOHN DEERe 640 that would run about 4 hours on a gallon, but that's just a rough estimate.

I don't know for certain but considering that a gallon of gas is far cheaper than a new lawn mower i wouldn't use the separated gas. Just go to the gas station and get gas that you don't have to question.
A CJ8 Champion plug can be used with a 1974 lawn tractor that uses unleaded gas, however, it would be better to go with a hotter plug. The hotter plugs will keep the tractor running longer without needing to replace the plug sooner than expected.
