As long as several years if an emergency (food supplies would be a problem then), but typically they are partially refueled every time they return to base. This may be every 2-6 months, depending on mission.
"Why are you a nuclear powered human being?"
According to the nuclear regulatory commission (NRC) there are at least 11 nuclear powered electrical generating plants. There are 4 facilities which have been shut down and are being decommissioned.
Anywhere away from the area that is being refueled.

Coal powered electricity generating plants are quite common. Here in the provice of Ontario (where I live and type) I know that approximately one third of the electricity in the provice is generated by coal power (the other thirds being nuclear and hydroelectric).
All being invented are spend too much energy, so there's no full-powered renewable energy yet
we do this so that we don't use things we need
Nuclear fission refers to the splitting of an atomic nucleus. It occurs naturally and can be induced in order to release energy. Nuclear fission provides the energy released by nuclear weapons as well as the energy used to produce energy at nuclear power plants.
India has been struggling to get a nuclear submarine in the water for some time. The technical challenges of "shrinking" a nuclear power plant to get one to fit on something the size of the submarine were daunting. On 26 July, 2009, India launched INS Arihant to gain them entry into the nuclear submarine club. That date might be the one asked about here, if something "exact" is being sought.
The shrink ray used to make horses small enough to fit into the engine (going from life sized to 1/10 the size) was far more expensive than modern cars. Some people also thought it cruel to shrink horses despite the fact that it was easier to feed them. It was also far easier to clean up after them when they were smaller.
They share a border. Being such a big country a nuclear bomb can be used against them without bothering their neighbor countries. This puts them in a critical position.
