yes they do hibernate i own one myself and it hibernated but only for a day.

if it has a sticky seal over where its head comes out the shell its not dead its just hibernating but whatever you do do not remove the cover you could kill it.

yes they do, but most slugs and snails die because they lie in the snow and their body can not keep up with the temperature.
