Until the president gets better or indefinitely until the next election period. Check out the 25th Amendment.
no; the vice president does. and if the vice president is ill also, then speaker of the house is in charge.
depends on how ill if he cant control then the vice president takes over until the president recovers but the white house tries to keep it secret it has happend before but it was surgury but i dont remember what president
No- this has not happened yet.
the reason why is because when the president dies, becomes ill, or is impeached the vice president takes over.
vice president
When the president dies, becomes ill, resigns, is removed, OR IF THEY ARE ELECTED PRESIDENT in the next election.
Vice is Latin for "in place of." A vice president acts as president when the president resigns, is ill or dies. And for a bit of grammar, the word vice as a noun means an evil or immoral habit. But as a preposition, it means "in place of." Quite the difference, right?
The 25th Amendment (ratified in 1967)
The speaker of the house takes over(:
Practically, no. Since the vice president is made president if the president is incapable of performing his duties, they would be constitutionally unable to fulfill the obligation if the president were to resign or take ill.
In case of death, the vice president is sworn in as president. If the president becomes ill, the vice president will become the "acting president" when the president informs the President Pro Tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives that he cannot carry out his duties. This will continue until the president advises them that he can resume his duties.
If he/she was temporarily ill, he/she would simply not work on that day. If the present were to be permanently ill to a state where they are unable to serve or if they were to die, the vice president would then step in.
