If you are very careful about how you get your "animal"-type protein from plants and vegetables, you don't need to eat meat, at all. You can survive for your entire life, or longer than you would if you had eaten meat.

I stay away from beef, but enjoy a little pork, poultry, or fish with several meals a week. I feel healthy, and my weight is about perfect for my size and 'build'.
