The construction of Mission San Juan Capistrano took nine years and was finished in 1806. Unfortunately, the mission was destroyed in an earthquake in 1812. One of the mission's nicknames was Jewel of the Missions.
The mission was rebuilt after the earthquake and today is part of the 21 mission system in the state of California historical property. Services are still conducted and visitors can tour the mission.
It took approximately 13 years to build the Mission San Jose. It took a while to build due to having to get the materials from Mexico.
