Thomas Edison was the who pateneted the first light bulb
There is not any detailed information on how long it took Thomas Edison to create the first light bulb. We do however know the first electric light bulb was patented in 1879.

Thomas Edison made the first operating incandescent light bulb. But in 1800, Humphrey Davy invented the electric light. It didn't last long, and was not a bulb, though. Arc lights later became popular, but again, were not in a bulb.
The mood light will last as long as the bulbs life, which has a lifetime of an average household light bulb. once the bulb burns out, one must replace the bulb with another mood light bulb.
Lewis Latimer invented the long lasting light bulb.
