There doesn't seem to be any agreement on the lifespan of elephants.

Some biologists says that it is 40-60 years. Others say that it is 50-70 years. yet, the longest lived elephant ever was Lin-Wang, who died at the age of 86.

It would be pretty safe to say that an average elephant can live anywhere from 40-70 years.
