I have been on Prozac for 8 years. I quit cold turkey a month ago and still have brain zaps and fatigue. My withdrawl symptoms were bad the first week and then gradually got better. Week 3 was good as far as the withdrawls were very mild. And, now in week 4 the withdrawls are extreme. My brain zaps are strong, but only when I move my head from side to side.
Everything I have read states that withdrawl symptoms can last up to 3 months. I pray that I get better soon. I must say that even with the withdrawls, I am still happy to be off Prozac. I feel like a new man!
I began decreasing my dose of lamictal about 4 weeks ago. I did it way too fast because the withdrawal symptoms have been pure hell. For the last week and a half I have not taken any lamictal at all and I have experienced headaches worse than any I've ever had in my life. I've also had a lot of dizziness and a vibration feeling in my head/neck that is very hard to explain. It is what I would imagine a very light electric pulse to feel like. Fortunately, I think I have been through the worst of it, as the last 3 days have been easier to manage. The headaches have decreased, as well as the vibration feeling I described. I still feel a bit dizzy when I'm moving around though. I would never want to go through this again. The meds did great things for me, but I am looking to expand my family and cannot continue to take lamictal during my pregnancy. I may get back on the meds afterwards, but I will have to think long and hard before doing so, because I cannot see myself going through this withdrawal again.....
Withdrawals of Prozac may start within eight hours of stopping the medication. Withdrawal symptoms may last for six to eight weeks.

No, the actual process of taking the acid will not produce withdrawal symptoms. Withdrawal symptoms appear when someone is trying to quit the drug, or go 'cold turkey.' quitting the use of any drug will cause withdrawal symptoms, it just depends on how often you used the drug, and for how long, to how severe the symptoms will be, and how long they will last for.

for most people, withdrawal effects peak during week 2 after quitting completely, improving thereafter. It helps to cut down slowly - be prepared for the process to take several months, and to still have a number of symptoms, especially quitting that last little bit. brain zaps were worst for me.
