My Ameraucana hens usually start with their first egg at about week 18. often with a break for a few days after (to get over the shock of what has happened) but then are quite prolific layers. Often laying an egg daily until the first molt.
Americana chickens will live approximately 4 years. The chickens can be a producers for approximately 2 1/2 years. As the chicken gets older, it will lay less eggs.
Intensively farmed chickens live for about a year if they are laying hens. Intensively farmed meat birds live for as little as 39 days.
Color of the bird does not determine the gender with Araucana Chickens. I breed and raise Araucana and Americana chickens and have had both cockerels and pullets in Lavender feather.
Most chickens live 7-9 years. It really depends on what kind of strain the chickens come from (show quality, production quality), and how the chickens have been raised, and what type of conditions they live in.
In a chicken coop/ chicken yard/ barn.they also live in the mountains in NepalChicken coops
5 to 6 years is average with some going into their teens.
The only chickens I have ever heard of that lay green eggs are Americana/Araucana.
They live for 4-6 yearsThanks.
Chickens may live in hutchs, they dont need to run as long as the hutch is big enough for the amount of chickens you own.
As long as the chicken cage has a high enough roof, a galah can certainly live in the same area as chickens.
Chickens can live for 12+ years if they are well taken care of.
Chickens typically have a life span of 3-5 years.
They will lay a bit but eggs are quite small. I will go with production reds or americana chickens for some great egg laying hens.
