∙ 13y agoThey should remain in the incubator until they are dry and fluffy. There are two reasons for this. Just after hatch they are vulnerable to chill and quick temperature drops. You want to keep the hatchmates together as much as possible in the first few hours. The ducklings will not need nutrition or water for at least 36 hours after hatch anyway so keeping them in the incubator ensures all hatch-lings go into the brooder box at the same time.
