Techinally the kind of cloud that spreads over the the sky in layers is the cumulonimbus cloud, but the cumulonimbus cloud spreads out in THICK layers over the sky. The question would be if the cumulonimbus cloud really does spread over the sky in layers.
Clouds. But technically it is falling from the sky, from clouds in the sky.
blood on the clouds
"Hover" means to hang fluttering in the air on on the wing, to remain suspended over a place or object, to move to and fro near a place, or to be in a state of uncertainty, irresolution, or suspense (as a hen hovers about her chicks - brooding over).
The sky is higher than the clouds. The sky is the space above the Earth's surface where the clouds, sun, moon, and stars are located. Clouds are formations of water droplets or ice crystals suspended in the sky.
When there are no clouds in the sky, the weather is usually clear and sunny.
The color of clouds in the sky can vary, but they are typically white or gray.
The long clouds are commonly known as "stratus" clouds. They appear as uniform, gray layers that cover the sky, often bringing overcast conditions and light precipitation. When they stretch out horizontally in long, thin formations, they can also be referred to as "stratocumulus" clouds. These clouds typically indicate stable weather conditions.
the troposphere is where clouds form or if you want it to be simple clouds are in the sky.
