∙ 12y agoIt depends, if its armed robbery(robbery with a weapon, even robbery with a knife ONLY is called armed robbery). you could be sentenced for three years IF there was no one injured, BUT if there was someone injuired or killed, you WILL be sentenced from 20 years to LIFE in prison. this does NOT apply for shoplifting as if the stoles goods are less than 500$, then its a misdeameaner. Armed robbery is considered VERY big in the USA and since its a violent crime, It will NEVER get removed from records and you WILL not find a job anywhere here. No one wana hire someone who robbed people. It does not worth it. Does it? you have the call.

∙ 13y agoThe sentence for criminal offenses is set by the legislature at the time they pass the law. There is too much unknown about this particular offense, but the judge (or the jury) obviously felt that the punishment fit the crime.
