Depends on the size of the clot and the part of the brain it damaged. It also depends on the health of the patient before the stroke. Many factors come into play when you try to calculate how long someone will live after a stroke. A big factor is how fast medical help is received after the stroke has happened. The longer out from the stroke you are after you receive treatment, the poorer your prognosis is.
you have the same amount of time as you would if you didn't have that stroke. Strokes are meant to be prevented so that it does not occur again. Strokes can also cause death, but you will not die just because you had a stroke. It may weaken the area of the brain the stroke occurred in, but with time, the area will rehabilitate itself.
Ayraayra: But if you have had a stroke it increases your chances of having another stroke or a TIA, also a hemorrhagic stroke, which are less common that ischemic/thrombotic strokes, carry a higher mortality rate. It all really depends on the person. Eating healthy, controlling your blood pressure, not smoking, and exercising can decrease the risk.
Depends entirely on the extent of neurological damage. Mild strokes may see the patient released in a matter of days. Extreme cases may involve chronic hospitalization in order to maintain life.
No I don't think so. My great grandma had several strokes, some were small and caused almost no damage, others were large and caused her to lose her balance. Right before she died she had one last big stroke. That and her heart issues were what killed her. In short, it depends on the size of the stroke and it's location in the brain.
Strokes are not always fatal and some people live for many years after a stroke, indeed some people survive several strokes.
ischemic stroke
Overheating is a very concerning issue. Many have overheated during normal, every day, outside, activities. These people who have overheated can suffer a heat stroke. The heat stroke can and most likely will cause a person to die.
Yes. For example HEAT stroke.
