Until they have hair, if there young. but if there just new hamsters that already have hair, i would recommend waiting at least 48 hours because hamsters will need time to adjust to a brand new environment. if you do hold it before that it shouldn't do much but your hamster will be very skittish and scared. i once held a hamster to early, and it became so traumatized it didn't make it. ): but don't worry about that happening to yours because that only happens to younger ones that aren't used to the home at all. I'm pretty sure if yours is full grown and in full health and you hold it before that, it will be okay, just a tad scared
I have owned three hamsters. Each time I adopted one, the person said to leave it in the cage for two days without disturbances. It needed to adjust to its new home. It feels like forever, but if you wait two days before holding your new hamster, it will be happier and it might even live longer.
yes, you can.
About one week or a few days. It depends.
You should let the Hamster be with its mother ( if pup ) for at least 3 weeks. You can't touch a hamster until it starts to get a coat of fur. If you touch a baby hamster with no fur, the mother will smell your scent on the Hamster, and leave it in your Hands. For more Information, Visit: ww.hamsterownerswebs.webs.com
The earlier you handle/love your bunny the better.
If your hamster is weaned, a lot. The more you hold your new pet, the better. This will get you aquainted with it and it with you. Make sure you feed it by hand when you hold it, this will form a bond between you.
Well, when you get a new hamster. You know you need all of the food and the cage. And stuffing. Leave the hamster alone for atleast 2 days. It needs to get use to its new home. If you touch the hamster before 2 days nothing will happen. It might just be a little skiddish. Scared of you. But you should hold your hamster(s) everyday for atleast 10-20 minutes. It doesn't matter how long you play with it. They are fragile so be gental.
I don't know of any reason why you'd have to wait to hold your tortoise.
At least one day or when they do not skit into hiding when you try to feed them. Let them settle in first.
3 weeks maybe 4 if ur still sad i would wait 4 weeks
no as long as you are buying it in the united states
yea, at first when i had my hamster i was soo scared to hold her but then my friend tried it for me. It was soo cool. When a hamster goes into a new home you have to get her used to the enviroment. So you should definetely hold him =] hamsters are playful (sometimes) so love them and dont be afriad of them.
2 oe 3 days
You have to wait 6 months.
wait for a few more days, but if it still does not move pls bring to the vet. by estherbella
Yes. You can, in fact its the excact time you should hold them because if you hold them at the wrong time they might die from their mother eating them.
well you cant really get your hamster to drink ,when its thirsy it will go and drink buy it self or hold up a treat and he/she will come and sniff it then hold it up next to the water bottle of the hamster and he might drink.if its new it might take some time to get use to you and might not drink or eat but he will afterwords so dont worry.
Don't wait Because If you don't start handling it now it could get out of control and end up biting you Sooner or later, When it gets to its cage let it settle down because its in a new home and it doesn't know where its at so it could freak out!
buy a new hamster.
it depends what type it is an Syrian or Russian are more likely to be friendly compared to a Chinese however check with the person you are buying it from
You have to wait until your puppy has learned how to walk
I got male fancy hamsters on new year's day and we have had the female hamster for a long time and she gave birth January 19th 2012, so she probably got pregnant a day after meeting the male hamster so about 18 days.
it doesn't matter, as long as you are comfortable with your new mate
