The operation itself is a very quick one but in total you are in the hospital for about 8 hours. About an hour of it is all the boking in and last minute checks that you go through before any scheduled operation. However because it is done under General Anesthetic a lot of your post op time in the hostital is to observing you for adverse reactions to the G.A.

Yes, you can have IVF to get pregnant after tubal ligation. However, anyone contemplating tubal ligation must consider the process to be permanent. If you are not ready to commit to a life without additional pregnancies, consider long-acting reversible forms of contraception, such as intrauterine devices (IUDs) or the contraceptive implant (such as Nexplanon). These are more effective than tubal ligation, and are completely reversible.

The answer to your question? Why yes it is. I had the Pomeroy and had it 17 years ago and just this March of 09 had them reversed. Dr. saved both my tubes, they weren't long, but saved both and now in November of 09 I am 6 weeks pregnant. So YES, it is reversable.
