Most rabbits live around 10 years, but some live even longer, up to 14 years sometimes. Although sometimes misfortune just happens, to a degree, how long your rabbit lives is up to you: if you take good care of your rabbit, its chance of a long life greatly improves. Rabbits can live a very long time, up to 10 or 15 years. Wild rabbits, however, live a short amount of time, such as 5 years or so. If you are not looking to keep a domestic rabbit that long, consider getting an older rabbit, one that probably already has an easy-to-follow daily regimen and won't live that long. Never, ever, hold a wild rabbit captive, as they probably will only live for about 48 hours at most.
