Usually about 2000 hours. If the environment that it is in is severe eg. vibration, rapid on-off switching then the lamp life will be shortened. Lamps usually burn out when being switched on.

Which bulb lasts longer an incandescent light bulb or a compact fluorescent light bulb?

A regular incandescent bulb uses a lot more energy than a compact fluorescent to produce the same amount of light. Most energy used by an incandescent bulb is wasted as heat which does not give off visible light. Incandescent bulbs are cheaper to buy, but they have shorter lifetimes than other alternatives.

It depends entirely on the bulbs being compared. There are some very bright fluorescent bulbs. In some Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFL) they take longer to get to full brightness. Also the frequency of the light emitted has a lot to do with the brightness the eye perceives.

What is the highest watt light bulb?

For a standard household incandescent it is 200w. Mogul incandescents can reach 3-500w depending. Halogen tubes typically reach 500w. Sodium-halide , high pressure sodium , Mercury vapor , and Arc lamps can reach into the thousands of watts but are not usually used in a household setting.

Lower Your Electricity Bill Just by Changing Your Light Bulbs?

Most people light their home using incandescent light bulbs. While these bulbs may seem less expensive, they can add quite a bit of money to your electricity bill. To lower your electricity bill, swap your incandescent bulbs for compact fluorescent lamps, or CPL's. CPL's are a type of bulb that uses 75% less electricity than incandescent light bulbs. Just by switching the type of light bulb you use, you can quickly lower your electricity bill. These bulbs also last much longer than regular bulbs. Most CPL's last around ten years, which means that you will enjoy a lower electricity bill, while never having to change a bulb.
