It almost always takes at least a day, sometimes two to three. But usually, if the ACH is posted in the morning, it will appear in the account the next day. But it all depends on the banks involved.

Answer:

It depends upon when the file is sent and when the sender wishes to make the money available. For Friday paydays, an employer will typically send the file on Thursday and request that the funds be available on Friday's business. Depending upon the way that the bank does the previous business day's processing, this could be available as early as 12:01 a.m. or as late as 8:00 a.m.

Other ACH transfers, such as those through websites like PayPal, don't technically take longer. Your online request for a transfer is not the same as sending a file directly to the bank. The online company must still process your request and send the file. Therefore, it can take 2-3 business days to receive a transfer. The best days to make online requests are Monday through Wednesday, excluding federal holidays, so that, in most cases, you can have the money by Friday.
