It really takes as long as it takes until you are discovered. So you could make a number one hit in 5 minutes or it might take a few years until someone discovers your music and thinks it and you are good enough that people would want to pay to see you perform your music (sing).
There is no degree for a singer. All you need is talent and opportunity with a bit of luck. So practice and sing as much as you can.
