It can take up to 24 hours for them to completely hatch out of their eggs. What ever you do don't help them. God has this as part of his plan, you see this is the last part for their lungs to develope. They will first make a tiny hole and rest, make a bigger hole and rest some more, this will the first time that they are using their little lungs and it wears them out. Very rarely will it take 24 hours to hatch, after that you can help them alittle, just be careful. Most of the time they will fall out of the end of the shell that they have been working on.

the mother will lay an egg or two a day until there are a total of 10-18 eggs. That is when she will start sitting on them, all day for 28 days. (except muscovys are a little longer sitting, either 30 or 31) Although, she will leave nest for about 1/2 hour a day to eat, drink and bathe in water, and go back to the nest all wet. (this helps the eggs, as they need moisture))
