after twelve thousand years, so don't worry
It would take 30 min. average time to add this charge to the system.
low freon
There is no set amount required by different AC units, it may be listed on the mfg. tag on the unit but that is just the factory charge and may be different for lines over 25 feet. The freon in older home units is R-22 and isn't avilable to non licensed people. If your unit needs freon, it leaked out. someone should find the leak and give a quote on fixing it. If you are not licensed, it is illegal to sell you freon for private use. It is best to pay someone to take care of this task and then you will be more certain of having a working air conditioner. They have the training and tools to do a proper job.
Take it to a shop. You will not be able get freon to finish the job as it is a regulated gas. Only licensed AC mechanics can purchase freon.
you need to take it to some one who works on a/c units for you need to put freon in it .
On the older ones they take R-22 freon and on the newer ones with 410 Puron freon..........
It sometimes depends on the temperature difference between the condensing unit and the air handler. I would say normally no more than an hour.
All fuses look good, compressor won't kick on, attempted to put freon in gauge on bottle went all the way over and would not take freon, any guesses? All fuses look good, compressor won't kick on, attempted to put freon in gauge on bottle went all the way over and would not take freon, any guesses?
Blown fuse? Freon leak? Suggest you take it and have it checked to be sure.
Unless you have been trained and certified by the EPA it is illegal for you to handle refrigerants, venting any refrigerant in to the atmosphere can lead to a 10,000.00 fine please call a local HVAC&R Technician to take care of your AC unit.
Many millions of years.
All it is is the freon coolant has run out on the ac. You can either take it to any discount tire, firestone, or just brakes and they can refill it for about $100. Or you can get the freon from any automotive store or walmart for about $30 and do it yourself.
