It depends on how the were raised. If you found a Praying mantis in the wild it may be aggressive, so if you want to take care of it, you need to be carefull when handulling it.
I brought a female Praying Mantis indoors and three weeks later she laid her egg case. So it can take a few weeks to a month for them to lay eggs after mating.
they dont. young take care of themselves
It depends on the religious denomination of the "Praying Mantis". Different religions not only have designated places to seek food, but also, the type of food that the Praying Mantis may eat.I believe Hermosa Beach, in California has a Homeless Mission for the Praying Mantis; however, the food is for consumption "in house", NOT for "take-out"! Not sure if it's still there, as this was back in 1999, when I lived in the area.
from what i know the praying mantis sits on a leaf, wait for its prey to come close, and then as quick as a blink of an eye it unfolds its arms, which have razor like teeth ligning them, grabs its prey - the insect it then eaten happily. hope this helps

Well my son has a male and female praying mantis in his insect carrier. Within minutes of placing the female inside the carrier they began mating. They have been hooked up for the last 30 hours and still they are in the position.
