According to the Standard of Perfection of the American Rabbit Breeders' Association, rabbits are considered adults at the age of 6 months.

Rabbits reach sexual maturity around 4 months of age.

Rabbits tend to reach a mature size at around six months of age.

Males and females reach sexual maturity at different times: females at around 16 weeks and males at around 14 weeks. Large breeds ("giants") reach sexual maturity later than the smaller and medium-sized breeds: it could take them as much as 9 months.
