A flame is not extinguished when a wire gauze is placed on top of it because the flame is still exposed to oxygen. The gauze has holes, through which oxygen can flow. Additionally, oxygen can reach the flame from under the gauze. Consequently, the flame is not extinguished.
when alkali metals are exposed to flame test, the loosely bounde electrons which present in valency shell are excited to higher energy levels, after some time they will come back to ground state by emiiting radiation which falls under visible region gives colour.
Yes, the precious metals like gold and silver have higher melting temps.
== The temperature of a candle flame is about 800 degrees Celsius. == Depending on the wax, and the concentrations of water of oxygen in the air, somewhere between 1,200 degrees and 1,700 degrees Celsius. The heat capacity and conductivity of air and the exhaust products of combustion, however, are both very low. In practice, candle flames do not seem very hot (much like metal feels colder than wood at room temperature, though they are the same temperature). The outer core of the candle flame is light blue -- 1670 K (1400 °C). That is the hottest part of the flame. The color inside the flame becomes yellow, orange and finally red. The further you reach to the center of the flame, the lower the temperature will be. The red portion is around 1070 K (800 °C). The reason there is this variation in a candle's flame color is because air convection pulls the warmer gasses upwards.
Group 1 metals are stored under a layer of oil. This prevents them from coming into contact with the oxygen in the air. Thus the violent reaction of group 1 metals and oxygen is prevented and the metals can be stored safely under oil.

What i would do is put the hams on one side of the grill and turn the flame on the other side of the grill. Keep an eye on the temperature of the grill so it is not over 400 and not under 300 degrees. cook until you reach an internal temperature of 190 degrees.

UNDER a flame? Sure, why not? Over a flame? Close? Uhhh... NO
It has to reach its boiling point. That's 100 degrees Celsius for water (under normal conditions), but different temperatures for different liquids.

There is a thing called a step which goes from under Bromine, across, one down, across.... until you reach the bottom. The elements to the left of the step are metals and the elements to the right are non-metals :)
Dishwashers reach temperatures of 140-150 degrees Fahrenheit, with higher temperatures resulting from heated drying cycles or sanitizing rinses. Commercial dishwashers (which wash a full rack in under 3 minutes) reach temperatures of 180 degrees Fahrenheit.
There is no specific degree that creates a white flame. However, it is considered a very hot flame, just under blue, which is known as the hottest flame.

Under normal conditions the thermostat opens at 195 degrees. The water temperature will reach between230 to 235 degrees and the cooling fan will come on and cool down to around 200 degrees and then shut off.
Yes
