Sounds like an experiment you could do, all you need is a cup, water, and a thermometer. If you can get two thermometers try it with one white cup and one dark colored one.
I would think so, but why not try it on a sunny day?
Dark objects will absorb more sunlight, converting it into heat energy, which is then passed on to the water - thus making it heat faster.
Because dark colours absorbs light/heat, while light colours reflect light/heat.
The dark surfaces heat up faster because dark surfaces attract sunlight faster than light surfaces.
You must know that white (light colored object) absorbs the least amount of heat and dark colored objects absorb the most heat. Hence in summers, a light colored car will absorb less heat and keep the car cool while in winters, the dark cars will absorb more heat and keep the car warm.

Dark colored (esp black), since they "hold" more sunlight than lighter colors.
Lighter colors reflect more light. Darker colors absorb more light. Sunlight is energy. You feel warmth when the sun shines on you because you are absorbing the energy of the sunlight. Darker colors absorb more energy so get warmer than lighter colors ------------------- Just like this answer ^^, dark colors do absorb more heat than lighter colors. Question is, I'm not really sure why.

A dark surface will absorb the heat from sunlight. While a white surface will reflect a lot of the sunlight and remain cooler.
smooth, dark colored
Because dark colours absorbs light/heat, while light colours reflect light/heat.
A dark deck absorbs heat from sunlight.
it absorbs more heat from sunlight than water because soil is looser which lets more sunlight in

The dark coloured concrete surface absorbs more heat energy and therefore reflects less heat energy.
