The symptoms usually show up during the time when you are feeding. If you have been giving this food and your dog seems fine he is probably alright. These dogs become very sick with vomiting, lethargy and inappetance. Also increased water consumption and urination. If you are concerned Please Consult your Veterinarian. There are many tests available to detect kidney failure caused by this. You might ask your vet about an ERD screen done on your pet's urine. This detects minute particles of protein in the urine that would indicate kidney disease far before it can be detected in blood.
