Depends. It takes about a month for an entire new layer of skin to grow back. Your skin has multiple layers though, so if the top layer is destroyed, it will be replaced by the second layer, and so forth.
Depending on the amount of damage done to the skin, it can take anywhere between three days (for light damage to just the upper layers) to approximately two or three months (for damage all the way down to the underlying muscle). The good news is, skin does always grow back, so simply keeping the wounds clean with hydrogen peroxide and sterile bandages will have that skin back to healthy in no time. One should note, however, that nerve tissue is usually damaged permanently, so the area where the skin is missing might never feel the same again.
Skin regeneration depends upon different cases -
Normal - In such cases , dead skin cells are replaced every minute by new skin cells which are again replaced by new cells when they die because each skin cells lifetime is not more than a minute .
Wounds - wounds take comparatively longer time since it kills off large number of skin cells and most of them pierce the upper layer or epidermis , where skin cells cannot form , which is why it takes longer time and scabs form to regenerate a proper epidermal base for the skin cells to regenerate and duration of healing differs upon the deepness of the wound .
[ As people age , repairing speed slows down and decelerates ]
a few days so around approximately 4 days
It takes about two weeks for a planarian to regenerate.
48 hours
It will take about 3 to 6 months for fingernails to regenerate or regrow completely. The growth rate will depend on the age of the person.
The neurons in the brain and else where do not normally regenerate. Skin cells do regenerate.
1 month
it has silky skin and can 'regenerate quickly:-)
The skin cells that you have when you get the tan regenerate to new ones, so obviously the new skin cells will be not tanned and the dead tanned skin comes away. This happens over a period of time, however long it takes your skin cells to regenerate over 2 weeks etc so you would keep your tan for atleast 2 weeks.why did you want a tan in the first place. wow.
how long does it take to grow a new layer of skin
The Skin
As unfortunate as this may sound, nerves do not heal. Nor do they regenerate. If you've suffered an injury that's caused nerve damage, that damage will not heal or regenerate.
