Questions are posted by their timeline. That means the newest questions are posted first, and will 'scroll' down the list every time another question is asked. It doesn't take very long for an 'apparently new' question to disappear off the first page !

Well it depends on what the question is. If it is something someone knows and they are using the site when the question is posted then an answer could come fairly quickly. If the question is complex it may require some thought and research, so this would take some time.

Probably because someone who knows the answer to that question hasn't actually read it yet. Remember - this site has thousands of questions posted every day, and it may take a while for someone to actually read your question... These answers are by realpeople - not automated 'services'.
This answer varies. People who have accounts here on WikiAnswers can view recently asked questions, and answer them for trust points. So it all depends, really.

It depends on a lot of things, how easy your question is to answer, how popular your question is, how many people see your question... Basically, it can be anywhere from a few minutes to years from now.
