I presume by scan you mean examination. In an EMS setting a Primary Exam takes only seconds and Secondary Exam should take only a minute or two. This should be followed by a more thorough Detailed Patient Examination once any presenting injuries or emergency conditions are stabilized. This can take several minutes.
