It takes 7 years to become a Physical Therapist. Typically 4 years to obtain an undergraduate degree and 3 years of physical therapy school. With this you get a DPT (Doctorate in Physical Therapy) in most programs.

In Canada, to become a physical therapist a student must complete a 4 year undergraduate degree, followed by a 2 year physical therapy post graduate degree. After passing board certification exams a student with this training is referred to as a licensed physical therapist.

As far as I am aware, there is no doctorate program available in Canada that enables physiotherapists to become a doctor of physical therapy. However, there is at present a lobby group pushing the government to allow/recognize extension of the physical therapy program to a 4 year doctoral degree. If/when this occurs, physiotherapy will become similar to other health care doctoral programs like medicine, chiropractic, dentistry, optometry, podiatry, etc., requiring 8 years of schooling and conferring the title doctor of physiotherapy.

how many years of school does it take t o become a respiatory therapist?\ how many years of school does it take t o become a respiatory therapist?\

To become a physical therapist (not to be confused with a physical therapist assistant), it takes a master's degree in physical therapy. This may change in the near future to a doctorate degree. This would take approximately two to three years post bachelor's degree which take between 120 to 128 credits.

There's just not enough information to determine that. Remember, currently a physical therapist must now have a master's degree in physical therapy. This alone will take two to three years after completion of the bachelor's degree.

A Doctor of Physical Therapy degree requires 3-4 years of undergraduate work followed by 3 years of graduate schooling. A physical therapist assistance program can usually be completed with 2 years of undergraduate classes.

you will need to get a bachelor's in either exercise physiology or biology/pre med before you start PT school. then you will need to get your doctorate in physical therapy and then take the boards to get your license. think 5 more years of college AFTER you become an assistant (2 yr degree).

All States require physical therapists to pass a licensure exam before they can practice, after graduating from an accredited physical therapist educational program. According to the American Physical Therapy Association, there were 205 accredited physical therapist programs in 2004. Of the accredited programs, 94 offered master

First, they are two extremes within the same field. A physical therapist assistant is a two year associate degree, while a physical therapist must have the minimum of a master's degree in physical therapy, and that may soon change to a doctorate. How many credits will transfer to the associate degree will depend on which courses you complete within your bachelor's degree. For instance, have you completed human anatomy and physiology I and II? These two course alone would take one academic year if you take them within the two regular academic semesters because of the sequential nature of the courses. Thus, how long it would take depends on the courses already completed, which courses were completed, and whether you have all the prerequisite coursework completed in terms of even applying to the master's program, which would take approximately two to three years to complete. Lastly, please understand, that some students feel they can take the physical therapy assistant program and use that as a lead-in to the physical therapist program. Nothing you complete within the associate program (even the professional phase courses) will apply to the master's program.
