From experience, if you cant afford bleaching kits then brush, floss, and mouthwash you mouth in the morning and at night until you are pleased with the color. This will take about two weeks to be pearly white!

∙ 13y agoI assume you mean by home, or, surgery whitening systems. In the surgery (Office) a dentist or allied worker, using a laser and chemical whitening agents can whiten teeth in under one hour. Results are good and will stay white unless you re-stain them or don't brush properly. Home whitening systems that are surgery supervised using close fitting, custom made, plastic holders for the whitening gel will be used over several days for a set time per day, about an hour is common. These work well and you need to allow a couple of weeks to get the best results.
Home systems, off the shelf, and e-bay style are not recommended as the trays leak chemicals onto the gum and cause trauma. If you do use them it depends how strong the chemicals are. It is a bit trial and error. You are better off using weak solutions over longer periods of time, rather than strong ones which may damage the soft tissues.
