How long it take is dependent on how many applicable courses and prerequisites you have already completed at the undergraduate level. For example, some LPN programs do not require two semesters of anatomy and physiology where the BSN program does. Therefore, you would have to compete these courses first. Another example, most if not all LPN programs do not require chemistry and microbiology, where the BSN program does. Thus, it all depends. You should inquire about the options you have through the college or university of choice. Also remember, community colleges also offer LPN to RN completion programs, and that is also a possibility you should look into.
