Growing tobacco is fairly easy. Once you have purchased tobacco seeds, you sprinkle them directly on top of the dirt and water. You will probably want to start them indoors if you live in a cold climate. Once the last frost passes, you can move them outside.
Because you want to use the tobacco instead of just growing it, you will also need to learn how to cure it, which is a lot more difficult.
Curing flue-cured tobacco should be considered a
complex procedure because of the differences in types
of tobacco (body, stalk position, moisture content, etc.),
curing facilities, and weather conditions. It is difficult to
use a set curing schedule because each barn of tobacco
is different.
That is why there needs more time to dry tobacco as it is not an easy procedure.
Tobacco takes very little time to decompose. It can decompose in six to eight weeks. However, cigarette butts can take up to 12 years to decompose.
Tobacco is over 1,000 years old.
