I have been drinking for about 8 years and have recently developed a violent behavior when I drink. What can I do to stop drinking or stop being violent?
If you are an addict (you suffer physical and emotional effects of use) - you are an addict for life. In addition, it means that if you stop using your drug of choice (in this question - alcohol) you are highly likely to begin abusing another chemical (be it a drug, sex, food, gambling) and become dependent/addicted to that also.
you can be addicted from the moment you start but it only takes a little bit for you to become in the habbit of doing drugs.
Many users report getting addicted from the first time they use it.
If you try marijuana once, you are most likely to be addicted
they become addicted to it
Depends on your body. Some people get addicted quite easily, but some don't. For example a pack of cigarettes will be enough for one person to become addicted, and for other months are needed to become addicted (like me :D ).
After your 1st pack if you don't take care of your self
The time necessary to become addicted to a drug varies with the individual and the frequency of use, along with the amount used.
It depends on the drug in question, the purity of the drug, and the exact person. There is really no way to say how long. You might get addicted to crack or meth the very first time you use it, and another after 2-3 uses. Someone with a family history of alcohol abuse might start a habit after a handful of drinking sessions, while someone without such a history might take years to become an alcoholic.
No it want take you long to get addicted to the drug lyrica.
It depends on the strength of the pill, how you take it, and how long you use it. Anything can become additive if you are someone who has a low tolerance for them.
The common term is alcoholism. However, DSM-IV (the fifth edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of the American Psychiatric Association) and earlier editions long ago replace that term with "alcohol dependence."
