The length of time before your pad becomes "full" all depends on the type of pad you use. If you use a thin "light day" one, and you have a heavy flow, it could be about 3-5 hours before you need to change. If you wear a "heavy flow" pad, those can last for up to 8 hours maximum. Check the label on your pad package to be sure becaue al brands vary. Although pads can absorb for a long time, I recommend to change every 2-3 hours to avoid stench.
During the day, change your pad every three to four hours to prevent odor, stains on your clothes, and possible vaginal infections. Source: http://www.plannedparenthood.org/teen-talk/watch/period-how-use-pad-tampon-cup-26793.htm

The memory of an average foam mattress pad is reported to last for years. This is because the foam in these pads is so dense. Some foam mattress pads come with warranties that last as long as ten years. Mos memory foam pads have a warrenty of 20 years. However if you are buing a seperate pad from say a local department store they only seem to last a few years. There are many factors involved in the wear and tear involved. These can include body weight, kids and quality of the pad itself.
Then its not a period, that's impossible to even happen.
