The Sistine Chapel is part of the Apostolic Palace of the Vatican and belongs exlusively to the Catholic Church that has perpetual control over it.
Sistine Chapel is actually quite small, it is after all a chapel. It measures 40.9 meters (134 ft) long by 13.4 meters (44 ft) wide and constitutes a negligible percentage of the Vatican's total area.
It is 40 m long.
It took Michelangelo about four years to paint the Sistine Chapel ceiling, from 1508 to 1512.

When you go to the Vatican you visit St. Peter's basilica, the Vatican museums and the Sistine Chapel. This is a working capital of the Roman Catholic church and not an amusement park. There are rules to enter into the basilica and for behavior. Women are not to wear shorts and are to have their shoulders covered ( a scarf will do the trick). The guards do not allow visitors to stand and take pictures within the basilica. Bags are to be checked when entering the museums. In the summer the lines are long so it takes time to visit these things.

The Sistine Chapel, located in Vatican City, covers an area of approximately 5,000 square feet. Typically, one gallon of paint covers about 350-400 square feet, depending on the type of paint and surface. Therefore, to calculate the amount of paint used for the Sistine Chapel, we would divide 5,000 by 375 (an average value between 350-400) to estimate that around 13.33 gallons of paint were used.
The Sistine Chapel is a barn-like simple rectangle, 40.93 meters long by 13.41 meters wide - the exact dimensions of the Temple of Solomon as given in the Old Testament. The chapel is 20.70 meters high and roofed with a flattened barrel vault.
40 m long, 13 m wide, 20 m high.

It's about 40 meters (131 feet) long by 13 meters (43 feet) wide. These numbers are rounded off just a little bit. Michelangelo painted over 5,000 square feet of frescoes.
