Answer
About 47 hours and 40 minutes according to Amtrak.
Answer
The reason it takes that long is that Amtrak trains usually do not go straight from one destination to another, without stopping. For example, somebody asked how to get to Houston, Texas from New York City the other day. When I looked at the Amtrak schedules, I found that the whole trip would take over 40 hours, because the train goes from New York to Chicago, then from Chicago to like, Oklahoma, from Oklahoma to Lousiana, from Louisiana to Dallas, from Dallas to somewhere else, and finally to Houston. I'm exaggerating a little, but not that much. Whereas, if you drove to Dallas, it would only take about 14 hours or so.
The time it takes a train to travel from Denver to New York can vary. The shortest time is about 18 hours and the longest time is about 28 hours.
The train ride from Dallas to New York City would be approximately 42-43 hours, according to Amtrak's website. This does not include your layover time in Chicago.

That will depend on what time you are travelling, what day of the week you are travelling, and where in Dublin you are travelling to. To get to the city is about 2 hours, but once you reach the edge of the city traffic will get heavier, so the last part of your journey would be slower if you are driving. If you are travelling by train, that will not be a problem.
it depens
3 days in most cases.
