Urine being largely water with some electrolytes and other trace chemicals, it shares many of the qualities of plain water.

It takes one BTU to change the temperature up or down of one cubic centimeter of water. That being said, it is important to know the volume of fluid. The average output is approximately 500 cc, therefore it will be necessary for the urine to release 500 BTU to drop one degree.

That being said, fluids gain and lose temperature quicker through conduction, reaching an equilibrium with any other heating/cooling source with which it is in contact.

The average internal temperature of the human body is 98.6 F (37 C). Urine leaving the body is 98.6 (or the temperature of the body it is leaving). It will begin to reach equilibrium with its environment immediately upon leaving the body.

If you attempt to cheat a urine drug screen by placing the sample outside of your body, it will quickly reach approximately 96 F or less (the average surface temperature of the part of your body with which it maintains contact). Samples that measure less than 98.6 F are immediately suspect.

It really depends. Try putting it into a pot until it reaches boiling point, but be sure not to stand directly over the pot (for fear of it's explosive effects). Another option is to freeze the urine in a clean ice tray for 30 minutes. If it takes longer than 30 minutes to freeze, you can assume there are toxins in the urine and it MUST be purified. If this is the case, strain the urine using a fly swatter (as the holes are larger than if you were to use a collander or a net) and test the urine for warmth.
