If a Golden Retriever has been well trained, it will understand almost anything you say. I have one myself, and he seems to do what I want him to do. Golden Retrievers are very smart dogs.
Some Golden Retrievers are hunting dogs. Once upon a time all Golden retrievers were hunters but when people found out how good of a pet they made many kept them for pets only and bred the hunting instinct out of them, also the Golden Retriever Club of America rewrote the standard for the show dog so that the body type is to stocky and heavy for a hunting dog and the longer hair of the show dog limits its usefulness as a hunter. As a result of these changes few Golden Retrievers today will hunt and there has not been a dual champ ( a field champ & a bench champ) for many, many years. To find a good hunting Golden Retriever you must go to a breeder of hunting Golden Retrievers.
yes they will ,but the golden retriever will think the cat will be a toy. But they do get along.Yes, I have a golden and the cats get along with him very well. Typically, golden retrievers get along with every body.
They come from the Scottish Highlands and have been bread for cold, wet weather.
i personally like both of them a beagle is a hound so it would sniff out everything and a golden retriever is an active dog breed. they are both great family dogs and love children. golden retrievers are really easy to train and beagles, not so much. beagles are better for hunting families and golden retrievers are best all around
I believe that Golden Retrievers were bred by humans, but they could have been wild. History does not tell this, because either history was not around at the time or because they gradually evolved to become the Golden Retrievers that we know today. However, Golden Retrievers are a good pet to take care of. They are loyal, faithful, and a good partner to boot! However, they're really friendly and don't make good watchdogs.
There were many Golden Retrievers that played Fluke. It is unlikely that most/any of them are still alive seeing as it's been 15 years since the movie's debut, and the average lifespan of a Golden Retriever is approximately 10-12 years.
Yes, the Singapuras have been recognized by the TICA since 1979.
The Burmese cat has been recognized by the TICA since 1936.
This is a short history lesson but it answers the question: The golden retriever breed started out with Lord Tweedmouth cross-breeding a Tweed Water Spaniel (now extinct) and a blackwavy-coated retriever. The litter produced all black puppies except for one golden puppy. This puppy would become the base for all golden retrievers. So... the first golden retriever was gold and all goldens have been since.
If there were, golden retrievers would be extinct! Dogs have been chewing on tennis balls since the day they made them yellow, and I haven't heard of any harmful effects yet.
