They'v been together since 2001
They started in 2001, started by friends Pete Wentz and Joe Trohman. During then they had two different members and consisted of 5 (Andy Hurley, the present drummer, wasn't recruited yet). When Andy came in, Patrick took over the vocals and Andy on the drums, and continued on only having 4 members.

∙ 14y agoFall Out Boy started in the suburbs of Chicago in early 2000-2001 by Guitarist Joe Throman and Bassist/Lyricist Pete Wentz. They found Patrick Stump in a Borders after hearing him talk about a band he liked and Joe and Pete liked too. He originally tried out for drums, but when they heard him sing they made him lead singer. dont know exactally where Andy Hurley came in though

∙ 12y agoThere had been rumors saying that Fall Out Boy broke up. Pete Wentz specificly said that they're just taking a break from their music. They will continue again in 2012 he said.
