A while.
No... obsidian is volcanic glass and it is unstable over long periods of geologic time. The rocks in northern GA are too old, any obsidian would have long ago chemcial broken down, and the rocks in southern GA formed during a period of GA history when there were not volcanoes.

Chekov's play - written late 19th century. Rocks in Australia - hundreds of thousands of years.
Because all of the rocks that were around when Earth formed have been recycled by plate tectonics and erosion. Hoped I helped!!
It takes four minutes, but it does not drop an obsidian block.
The obsidian you found in Kentucky likely originated from volcanic activity, as it is a naturally occurring volcanic glass formed when lava cools rapidly. While there are no active volcanoes in Kentucky, obsidian can be transported over long distances by natural forces such as erosion or human activity. It's possible that it was brought to your arrowhead hunting spot from a region with volcanic rocks, such as the western United States, where obsidian is more commonly found. Additionally, indigenous peoples may have traded or traveled with obsidian tools, contributing to its presence in Kentucky.
