Two hours is the maximum amount of time that a potentially hazardous food, like meat, should be allowed to be unrefrigerated. Less time is better. It depends to rotten or cold? if rotten then a few days if cold 20 to 30 minutes

It all depends on what food is in your sandwich and the temperature that the sandwich be exposed to (bacteria can grow quickly in 40-140 degrees F). If your sandwich contains moist, low-acid foods such as eggs, milk, meat, fish, and poultry bacteria can develop quickly. If these items are present in your sandwich keep it refrigerated or cold in a packed lunch by freezing the sandwich or packing with a frozen water bottle or frozen juice box. Foods high in acid can be safely left unrefrigerated for 4-6 hours.

Cooked foods should not be left out unrefrigerated for longer than two hours. If the weather and house are hot, the amount of time that food can be left out is even shorter.
