After living in Santiago de Chile for over a year I made the leap across the cordillera to Buenos Aires in an overnight CATA bus. We left the USACH station in Santiago at approximately 09:00 Chilean local time on a Thursday morning and arrived at the Retiro station in Buenos Aires around 07:30 Friday. Approximately 22 hours in bus. With a two hour stop at immigration. This was in mid-June and the Andean border stop was practically empty. I would definitely recommend it for those who are short on money but have lots of time to see the beautiful landscape in between the two cities.
USD$300 five and a half days
